Silvia Lospennato criticized Javier Milei for the failure of the Clean Sheet: "He didn't keep his word."

Silvia Lospennato harshly criticized the government after the collapse of Ficha Limpia (Clean Record) in the Senate. The PRO representative and candidate for Buenos Aires City legislator said she felt "enormous frustration" and took aim at President Javier Milei : "He promised that corrupt officials would be excluded from Congress. He didn't keep his promise. It was a huge disappointment."

The legislator believes the ruling party did nothing to ensure that the bill, already approved by the House of Representatives, would advance in the Upper House. She also spoke of a " pact of impunity " that, she claimed, favors figures like Cristina Kirchner .

Silvia Lospennato recalled that ruling party Senator Ezequiel Atauche and Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos had assured them that the votes were there. "After the law was defeated, there wasn't a single criticism of the senators who let it be defeated," she said. She also cited statements by Carlos Rovira, who asserted that the call to halt the vote came from the President himself.

In this context, Lospennato emphasized: "I don't know if he didn't want to or couldn't, but Javier Milei didn't keep his word . The most serious thing was the silence that followed." For her, the government's attitude revealed a significant setback in the fight against corruption .

Buenos Aires City's Minister of Economic Development, Hernán Lombardi, maintained that "honest Argentinians suffered a defeat" and that "criminals belong in prison, not in Congress."

Silvia Lospennato also clarified that she had submitted the Clean Record , but the government opted to push its own text. "I'm not in the Senate. The responsibility lay with the ruling party," she stated.

When asked about the political impact, she warned that this could influence the elections. "We're all disappointed. This could be a choice of values: truth or lies. If citizens continue to vote for those who don't represent them, they can't complain later," she concluded.
